Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2021 draw announced, Pakistan and India will compete on March 13, positional matches of the 9-day event will be played on March 18 and 19
The draw for the Men’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2021 has been announced. Starting March 11, the event will feature 3 matches each day. On the first day of the event, Pakistan and Korea will compete on March 12, Malaysia and on March 13, 2021, traditional rivals Pakistan and India will compete. After a day’s rest, the Green Shirts played against Japan on March 15 and then against the host Bangladesh on March 16. The positional matches of the 9-day event will be played on March 18 and 19. It should be noted that the tournament will be hosted by the Bangladesh Hockey Federation. The sixth edition of the biennial event will be held at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in Dhaka. The continental tournament will feature hosts Bangladesh, India, Malaysia, Korea and Japan, including Pakistan.
Remember that this event has a special place as the first continental tournament of the event in fifteen months due to Quad-19. In addition to the Pro League, this is the first major international event in 2021.
Introduced in 2011, India won the inaugural Men’s Asian Champions Trophy. Men’s Asian Champions 2018 Pakistan and India were declared joint winners in the final due to continuous rain. The tournament is expected to see stiff competition between high-performing teams from across Asia.
