Pakistan Hockey Federation prepares action plan for players’ central contracts. Chairman PHF Selection Committee Olympian Manzoor Jr. and Head Coach National Hockey Team Olympian Khawaja Junaid will monitor the performances of the players. Players performance will be tested on a monthly basis. Central contracts will be offered to the top 20 players. Central contract players will be placed in A, B and C categories in terms of performance. A category player will get Rs 50,000, B category player will get Rs 40,000 and C category player will get Rs 30,000. Player’s monthly physical fitness and skills levels will be monitored. Chairman Selection Committee Olympian Manzoor Jr. and Head Coach Khawaja Junaid will send recommendations to PHF within 3 days. Final approval of Central Contact will be given by President PHF Brigadier(r) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar. Top 30 senior and junior players of PHF Players Pool to be called for PHF Central Contract. Initially, 20 players will be offered PHF Central contracts. Future training programs will be issued to the players including video sessions of the players every month. According to details, National Hockey Selection Committee Chairman Legend Olympian Manzoor Jr. along with Head Coach National Hockey Team Olympian Khawaja Junaid held a press conference at Pakistan Hockey Federation Headquarters National Hockey Stadium Lahore. Olympian Manzoor Jr. said that President PHF Brigadier R khalid Sajjad Khokhar and Secretary General PHF Asif Bajwa have instructed to start the process of central contract for the welfare of national players. In this regard, all powers have been delegated to the Chairman National Hockey Selection Committee and Head Coach۔ Los Angeles Olympics winning captain Manzoor Jr. added that the athletes’ performance would be checked every month. And head coach National Hockey Team Olympian Khawaja Junaid will also accompany for professional feedback. Recommendations will be made for the Central Contract based on the players’ physical fitness tests, sports proficiency tests, and the player’s performance in the game. The Chairman National Hockey Selection Committee and the Head Coach National Hockey Team will formulate these recommendations within three days every month and send them to the Pakistan Hockey Federation. The final approval will be given by the President of Pakistan Hockey Federation Brig. (r) Khalid Sajjad Khokhar.
Head Coach National Hockey Team Olympian Khawaja Junaid said that the central contract has been divided into three categories. Category A will get Rs 50,000, Category B Rs 40,000 and Category C will get Rs 30,000. Initially, PHF Central Contract will be offered to the top 20 players. In this regard, top 30 senior and junior players from the PHF Players Pool will be invited to test their abilities. Performance sessions of athletes with sports skills and physical fitness will be tested as well as video sessions And there will be a target assignment for next month. Sydney World Cup Champion, FIH High Performance Certified Coach Olympian Khawaja Junaid added that the quality of fitness and performance of the players will determine their central contract category. Players will be tested every month and only performance in PHF Central contract will be taken into account.
