Eligible players have been made part of the central contract through a specially designed fitness and skill program by PHF. Five players in Category A, two players in Category B and five players in Category C have been made part of PHF Central Contract. In the Emerging Players category, four players will be part of the central contract. This was stated by Secretary General Pakistan Hockey Federation Olympian Asif Bajwa along with Chairman National Hockey Selection Committee Olympian Manzoor Jr. and Head Coach Olympian Khawaja Junaid at a crowded press conference at PHF Headquarters Lahore. He told the media that the PHF had tested the fitness and skill standards of the players through the World Standard Fitness Program under the direction of the President of Pakistan Hockey Federation. While B category includes Tazeem Al Hassan and Moein Shakeel. Goalkeeper Waqar, Goalkeeper Abdullah, Aqeel, Umair Sattar and Roman Khan have been included in C category. In the Emerging Players category, Danish, Rizwan Ali, Obaidullah and Naveed Alam will be part of the PHF Central contract. Central contract players will be tested on a monthly basisA category player will get Rs 50,000, B category player will get Rs 40,000 and C category player will get Rs 30,000. While Rs 20,000 will be given to Emerging Players categorySeveral players, including national hockey team captain Rizwan Senior, failed to get PHF Central contracts.
