In Hockey 09 Super Hockey League, Lahore Dolphins and Lahore Lions were awarded 20,000 cash prizes by Rana Zaheer Hockey Academy for winning their respective matches. Director Administration Pakistan Hockey Federation Major (R) Javed Arshad Manj and Director Sports Junior School, Aitchison College Lahore were Sajjad Rasool.
On the second day of Hockey 09 Super Hockey League under Rana Zaheer Hockey Academy, Lahore Dolphins and Lahore Lions won while Lahore Tigers and Lahore Panthers lost. The first match was played between Lahore Dolphins and Lahore Tigers which ended in a thrilling 1-1 draw in regulation time. Lahore Dolphins won the match by defeating Lahore Tigers 3-4 in the penalty shootout stage. For Lahore Dolphins, M Emad scored one goal while Ghazanfar Ali and Shafqat Rasool scored two goals each. Moin Shakeel and Zeeshan Bukhari scored one goal each while Rizwan Ali scored two goals for Lahore Tigers. The match was supervised by umpires Yasir Khurshid and Mazhar Waseem while Mubashir Ali was the reserve umpire. Judges were Saqib Niaz, Shiraz Khurshid, Israr Jafri and Rizwanul Haq. Muhammad Yaqub International performed his duties as a Technical Officer.
The second match was played between Lahore Lions and Lahore Panthers which Lahore Lions won by four goals to one. Despite losing one goal by Lahore Panthers, Lahore Lions got hold of the match at the beginning of the match. Lahore Lions captain Rana Sohail Riaz scored a brilliant hat trick while Ali Murtaza scored a field goal. The only goal for Lahore Panthers was scored by captain Ahmed Nadeem. The match was supervised by umpires Banesh Hayat International and Mubashir Ali while Muzair Waseem was the reserve umpire. Judges were Saqib Niaz, Shiraz Khurshid and Israr Jafri. Muhammad Yaqub International performed his duties as a Technical Officer.
The special guest of today’s first match was DG Sports Pakistan Wapda Thaqleen Zahoor Raja while the special guests of the second match were Director Administration Pakistan Hockey Federation Major Javed Arshad Manj and Director Sports Junior School, Aitchison College Lahore Sajjad Rasool. Distinguished guests were given a warm welcome on arrival at the National Hockey Stadium and were also introduced to the players and team officials. Rana Zaheer Hockey Academy Director and International Hockey Coach Rana Zaheer Ahmed Babar The current coach of Pakistan Juniors Hockey Team gave a cash award of Rs. 22,000 to today’s winning teams. On behalf of Lahore Dolphins, Captain Ghazanfar Ali received a cash prize of Rs.
